Schlenderhan
In 2006, a training center was built for Schlenderhan, Germany's oldest and most successful thoroughbred stud farm. The complex includes a state-of-the-art stable complex for 70 thoroughbreds, a covered trotting ring, storage facilities, an office building, and staff accommodation.
The centerpiece of the facility is the 2,200-meter training track with a 1,000-meter straight. In addition to a 30-meter-wide grass track, a 5.5-meter-wide sand track is available for daily training.
Following the move to the new facilities, Schlenderhan won the German Derby twice, in 2007 and 2009, after a 31-year absence.
The property was sold a few years ago and is now used as an equestrian center.
